Treaty Between the Kingdom of Spain, the French Republic, the Italian Republic, the Kingdom of The Netherlands and the Portuguese Republic, establishing the European Gendarmerie Force

The object of this Treaty is to establish a European Gendarmerie Force, which shall be operational, pre-organised, robust, and rapidly deployable, exclusively comprising elements of police forces with military status of the Parties, in order to perform all police tasks within the scope of crisis management operations.

This Treaty defines the fundamental principles in respect of the objectives, the status, the modalities of organisation and the operation of the European Gendarmerie Force, hereinafter referred to as EUROGENDFOR or EGF.
