Political reactions on social change

The study underlies the strong political effects of competition and social change in Germany. The various reactions on the whole Reform-process may be subdivided into three main attitudes and groups. The first group is very well qualified and has Job security; the second one represents the social center; the third is directly threatened by the economic and social effects of global change. The documents sho that the middle class feels very concerned about social change.

Among the first group, the well qualified young men are clearly attracted by the political left (9%); folowed by the «liberal citicens» (10%), where we find many women and public employees. The so-called «winners» (13%) in the center of the german society are more influenced by right-wing themes, followed by «traditional» groups who do not approuve the way of social change. In the third group, we find the «threatend center» (16%), mostly qualified industrial workers, the low qualified «authoritarians» (7%) and the precarious employees (8%).
