The paper takes part on a public debate that the EU Commission started throughout its Green Paper about flexicurity and the change of labour laws.
The author is associated to the scientific foundation of the german Unionism DGB. The response both critical remarks on and constructive suggestions too the Green paper. The default assumption that relaxing labour laws can be compensated by some advances in flexicurity is criticised with empirical evidence.
