  The European Parliament Socialist Group published a 13-page paper on the fight against terrorism, setting out detailed recommendations for action at EU level.

• PSE Position paper on ‘The Future of Services of General Interest in Europe’

  This position paper is a response to the European Commission’s white paper on services of general interest as well as to current European initiatives to the future of public and private services. It includes proposals for the structure and possible substances of a European Framework Directive of General Interest. It refers to general requirements of services of general interest, criteria for funding and evaluation, participation by the workforce and the ‘third sector’ and comments upon the application of the principle of subsidiarity and proportionality.

• Ten Point Socialist Action Plan on Migration and Integration

  In this position paper The Socialist Group (PSE) calls for urgent action to deal with the complex issues of migration into the EU and the integration of migrants into local communities. It seeks a common migration policy for EU countries, the adoption of a European Charter for the Integration of Migrants and the adoption of EU codes of conduct for Decent Work.
