• Seminar : Still not resolved? Constitutional issues of the European Arrest Warrant, 19 September 2008

  In this Seminar we will address the European Arrest Warrant from a national and European perspective. By looking at its implementation in a number of selected countries, we will allow to assess the distinctive constitutional issues raised by such a tool. This Seminar will provide a unique opportunity for policy makers, social partners, civil society actors and academics to exchange views on the critical aspects of the European Arrest Warrant and to test and develop the thinking in the field.

• Seminar : Language and Integration Tests for Newcomers and Future Citizens

  Language and integration tests are a topical issue in various European Union Member States. Several Member States have introduced language and integration courses in their domestic legislation. Immigrants have to pass language and integration tests in order to prove that they have obtained a certain level of knowledge, sometimes even before entering the country. Though the modalities of the integration tests and courses vary between the Member States, the introduction of the tests reflects a change in ideas on the relationship between legal status and integration.
